The Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC) is a European Commission initiative bringing together 136 cities to achieve intelligent, socially responsible and sustainable growth through advanced technologies. ICC encourages interaction and cooperation among participating cities by organizing regular networking opportunities and community gatherings.
One of these was the ICC Conference & Mayors Forum, that took place in Barcelona on November, 15th and 16th, 2022. The Conference was integrated in the well-known Smart City Expo.
The Mayors Forum on day 1 united high-level political representatives and city leaders from across Europe and beyond to reinforce political commitment on the cities’ twin transition and Local Green Deals. The ICC Conference on Day 2 welcomed city and business representatives from ICC core and mentor cities and lead experts. The overarching focus of the Conference was on the transition towards a green, digital and resilient economy.
The 2-day event was a beautiful mix of 40 keynote speeches, plenary sessions, a city challenge, high-level roundtable discussions, city’s best practice and several networking moments. The event welcomed 400 participants and the Conference and forum were livestreamed.
Solutions
OFCORES was responsible for nearly all aspects of the event, beyond just the conference logistics, planning, promotion, and exhibition materials, as well as managing the travel arrangements for the speakers. Our team oversaw the project from start to finish, including selecting the venue, managing attendee registration for the 400 participants, and coordinating all on-site operations with our partners, suppliers, hotels, city representatives, speakers, and attendees. It was a beautiful project to work on and we are grateful for the opportunity.
